The US has refused to sign a Group of Seven (G7) pledge by Italy, Canada, Japan, France, Britain and Germany, which called the Paris climate accord the "irreversible" tool to address global climate change and the "security and prosperity of our planet,” according to Reuters.
The G7 environment ministers issued a final communique after a two day meeting ended on Monday. It was the first meeting since the US pulled out of the Paris Climate Accord last month.
The document only mentions the US in a footnote, which states that the US “will continue to engage with key international partners in a manner that is consistent with our domestic priorities, preserving both a strong economy and a healthy environment.”
